A day to remember – biography, photo, video and music
A Day to Remember is a post-hardcore band from Ocala, Florida, formed in 2003. Their music generally consists of growled verses, clean pop-punk style choruses and breakdowns.
Early years (2003-2006)
After all playing in different bands in the Ocala music scene, singer Jeremy McKinnon, guitarists Neil Westfall and Tom Denney, bassist Joshua Woodard, and drummer Bobby Scruggs came together in 2003. Soon after, the band embarked on a “DIY” tour, playing well over 200 shows, making a name for themselves. They were signed to Indianola Records, from which they recorded their first full length, titled And Their Name Was Treason in May 2005. The album sold 8,000 copies on word of mouth alone, but the band felt that bigger and better things were to come. “A friend of mine said he had the AIM screenname of someone at Victory Records,” Woodard said. “I didn’t believe him, but I still started communicating with the guy. We IM’ed back and forth for about six months, and it happened that we were playing with the band On The Last Day in a town outside of Chicago—and this guy was going to be there filming it. It was our first time we ever played in Illinois, yet the 50-60 kids there were singing along to our tunes like they’d been fans all their lives.

Him – biography,photo,video and music
There are multiple artists with this name
1) Him , a love metal band from Finland.
2) HiM, a solo project put together in 1995 by Doug Scharin (drummer for June of 44, Rex, and Codeine).
3) HIM, acronym for “Hiromasa Ijichi Melodies,” a Japanese group.
1) Formed in 1991 by vocalist Ville Valo, guitarist Mikko Lindström (Linde), and bassist Mikko Paananen(Mige). Today the band consists of the previously named as well as a drummer Mika Karppinen(Gas) and a keyboardist Janne Puurtinen(Burton). The name HIM was originally an abbreviation for “His Infernal Majesty”, but was changed to the initials to avoid confusion with the occult. Also, the Finnish people were rarely able to actually pronounce the name correctly. The name “HIM” later caused confusion when touring in the US, because of another band using the same name (read below at 2)). For this reason, the band was -jokingly – for some time known as “HER” in the States, and even more jokingly HIM&Her in Germany.
The EP, ‘666 Ways to Love: Prologue’ (1996) was their EP released only in Finland and only 1,000 were produced making it worth up to $700 and has been sold on eBay for more. HIM’s first full length album ‘Greatest Lovesongs Vol. 666’ (1997) gained European fame due to the success of the cover of Wicked Game the album also featured a popular cover of (Don’t Fear) The Reaper.

3oh%213 – biography,photo,video and music
3OH!3 (pronounced “three oh three”) is an American electronica group from Boulder, Colorado. The band is named after the 303 area code, which covers Boulder, Aurora, and the Denver metropolitan area.
Sean Foreman and Nathaniel Motte were inspired by the hip-hop/electronic scene and Foreman invited Motte to mix some beats and hang out with him. The two were helped early on by friendships they had made with local acts such as Grace Gale, Signal to Noise and The Blackout Pact. Their self-titled debut album was not a commercial success and debuted in 2007.
After playing the first show in Florida of Warped Tour 2007, 3OH!3 signed on for all venues of Warped Tour 2008 with the exception of Philadelphia on July 25. Their song “Punkbitch” is featured on the Warped Tour 2008 Tour Compilation. The band has also played at national festivals such as Bamboozle Left. 3OH!3 commonly use skits and costumes during their live concerts and are known for their energetic shows.
The band then headlined the 2009 Alternative Press Tour across the U.S. with Family Force 5, The Maine, A Rocket to the Moon, and Hit The Lights. The band performed in Panama City Beach, Florida for MtvU’s Spring Break in March 2009.
3OH!3 will again join the Warped Tour in 2009. 3OH!3 will also be apart of Kiss Concert ‘09 (Kiss 108), Kiss The Summer Hello 2009 @ Coca-Cola Field in Buffalo, NY, June 3rd 2009, along with Kevin Rudolf, The White Tie Affair, The Veronicas, The Ting Tings, & Elliott Yamin.

I Want My Ca, and I Want My Mtv
Recently, the Communication Arts Advertising Annual showed up in my mailbox. Like it does every December. I’ve been a subscriber since 1993.
With each passing year, though, I find myself spending less and less time looking through it. The work that’s showcased this year is…well, it’s all pretty good. Nice art direction, a few clever things, some cool visual weirdness, a fairly thick “integrated” section I don’t recall seeing much before.
But like I said, just pretty good. Nothing more, nothing less. Is it me? Why am I not blown away by today’s work?
Then in a flash, I suddenly realized why. It’s Huey Lewis’ fault.
Or maybe it’s Michael Stipe’s fault. Or maybe Bryan Adams’.
You see, I’m a huge fan of music – and I started buying records when I was 7 years old. To me, nothing will ever replace the music I heard in the few years when I was 13, 14 or 15 – smack in the middle of the 80’s, which many older people considered to be a musical wasteland at the time. But damnit, I wanted my MTV, and I still wish they had World Premiere Videos. It’s not that I don’t like new music. The White Stripes, Franz Ferdinand, Madele ine Peyroux – all are good, but none of their CD’s get under my skin the way “Life’s Rich Pageant” did. Or “The Joshua Tree.” Hell, I’ll even cop to being a fan of “Reckless.”
Likewise, no recent ad has gotten under my skin the way Nike’s “If You Let Me Play” or the beautifully black & white Norwegian Cruise Lines ads with the non-linear, poetic copy did. For me, those were the seminal ads that showed me what was possible in advertising. I vividly recall seeing those ads, reading them, re-reading them, and aspiring to write something that would rise to that level.
